Members Discuss the following from the Agenda:
Director’s Report Oct. 4:
Brief meeting precedes the HR Awards Program/Fundraiser at 6 pm

Monthly Intake for September (32) Complaints consisted of concerns for housing/eviction, employment, legal requests, upcoming program questions and general information.  

Monthly Budget:  Members please see monthly activity report attached.

Annual Human Rights Recognition Awards Fundraiser Program & Reception is scheduled for Wednesday, October 4 from 6-8 pm in Council Chambers, City Hall.  All planning for Program is complete, noting good media attention.  Last minute details include set-up in council chambers and lobby (reception items) as well as check points for fundraiser ticket sales.  Notably, ticket sales should cover 1-2 scholarship awards to qualifying high school senior(s).
Plaques are complete.  Engraved plaques will be given to three Community Award recipients and one Youth Award
- Rick Emanuel, Publisher of The Citizen
- Penny Lupo, Teacher at Neighborhood House
- Kathleen Bennett, Oncology Nurse
- Reagan Cuddy, Auburn High School Senior
Auburn City Mayor and Congressman Boehlert’s district office will provide additional congratulations at the program.

HR Scholarship Fundraiser: Ongoing


Advertising Campaign/Public Awareness:  ongoing.

HR exploring grant opportunities as they arise via the Human Services Coalition email announcements.
Motion to accept Director’s Report/Second:  Jones/Fr. Mack
 
New Business:  Commission Member B. Van derWerff excused from meetings through December due to out-of-state travel.

Discussion of upcoming HR in-service and public forum plans.

Old Business: Tomatofest weekend -  information booth… good traffic.  HR made a small amount of sales from book and t-shirt sales.
